Optimized Fuzzy Controller Based on Cuckoo Optimization Algorithm for Maximum Power-Point Tracking of Photovoltaic Systems

The performance of a photovoltaic (PV) array depends on temperature, radiation, shading and load size. Conventional maximum power point tracking (MPPT) methods have acceptable efficiencies under uniform conditions (irradiance = 1000 W/m2 temprature 25 °C), but in dynamic weather conditions, changes, also partial due to the presence several local points (MPP) P-V characteristic, conventional method does not work well finding main MPP. To extract all condi-tions, many algorithms been proposed, which limitations terms convergence speed, output ripple efficiency. This research proposes an optimized Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) based Cuckoo Opti-mization Algorithm (COA) for MPPT changes. Finally, compared simulation results with four other popular methods. According observations result, COA-FLC overcomes mentioned such as low efficiency conditions. Simulations are performed MATLAB / Simulink software.
